Director of Sales & Marketing

Position Summary:

Trillium Brewing Company is seeking a dynamic Director of Sales & Marketing to join our team! Be a part of our premier New England farmhouse food and beverage group, where compelling storytelling and striking visuals come together. The Director of Sales & Marketing will be instrumental in driving sales and marketing efforts through innovative strategies and will report directly to the CEO of Trillium and work primarily out of our Canton location.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Sales and Profitability

  • Creating and driving the sales strategy of our beer and spirits, through our own Direct to Consumer channels, Wholesale, and in house Retail
  • Accountable for the quality and management of wholesale partnerships
  • Design annual product release schedule to optimize sales and production efficiencies
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement key sales processes and workflows
  • Optimize product availability at each location based on available storage constraints and location-specific sales mix
  • Ensure sales readiness for all products with appropriate education and training materials
  • Design product placement in our own retail outlets in conjunction with Director of Food & Beverage
  • Identify new market and growth opportunities with sales strategies to drive revenue growth
  • Oversee business performance through wholesale partnerships, actively engaging with distributors and ensuring consistent adherence to brand standards

Marketing

  • Accountable for developing and implementing Trillium’s comprehensive marketing strategy, collaborating with internal stakeholders, to achieve the organization’s goals
  • Develop and implement an integrated and consistent strategic communications plan to advance our brand identity. Broaden awareness of our products, programs, and values, identify and reach new target audiences, and increase Trillium’s social media presence and the visibility of our products across key audiences
  • Grow, engage, and maintain a community of our brand’s supporters across all social platforms through compelling short and long-form storytelling, and lead the creation of digital assets that accurately reflect our existing brands values, including video, photography, copywriting
  • Define and lead a media and PR strategy that develops new, and maintains existing, relationships to authentically increase our exposure, amplify our brand, and tell our brand’s story, assessing impact through clear KPIs that enable the team to clearly gauge strategy effectiveness
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to design in-person and virtual activations and events, optimizing revenue generating opportunities in support of the brand-building activations, including product and merchandise sales
  • Develop new, and maintain existing, brand-aligned external partnerships. Evaluate and recommend sponsorship opportunities through data-driven proposals intended to achieve Trillium’s goals
  • Accountable for the design and generation of consistent and high-quality content by our creative team, in collaboration with external partners, including all printed and digital collateral
  • Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization and industry as a whole and monitor customer communications to offer insight and provide analysis of how internal and external feedback can affect positive change to operations, product, and spaces. Work with leadership and Marketing teams to recognize communications opportunities and solutions, and execute appropriate strategies to support them
  • Accountable for the strategy and financial performance of Direct-to-Consumer sales through our web platform. Optimize website and digital shopping platform to enhance the virtual consumer experience, maintaining website accuracy and performance

Leadership

  • Inspire a passionate team culture in support of consistent execution of Trillium’s goals
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement & education, and strive for operational excellence by collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Lead, educate, and grow the Sales, Marketing and Operations teams to achieve their defined goals and results, consistently monitoring performance and creating personalized development plans if needed
  • Identify appropriate training and/or coaching opportunities and follow-up to ensure effective, legally compliant, and consistent resolutions are reached
  • Provide positive, actionable solutions when faced with challenges

Desired Qualifications & Abilities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 6+ years of sales experience with consumer retail products
  • Alcohol beverage sales experience required; direct to consumer experience preferred
  • Proven experience in product launches
  • Strong understanding of consumer behaviors influenced by product packaging, pricing strategy, and consumer psychology

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented with process-oriented thinking
  • Strong capacity to both lead and participate in cross-functional teams to define issues and agree on processes, strategies, and outcomes
  • A self-motivated approach, with strong work ethic, requiring limited oversight
  • Ability to travel between various Trillium locations throughout New England
  • Flexibility to work remotely one day per week, otherwise reports out of our Canton location
