Eastern Michigan University named in Forbes’ America’s Best Midsize Employers 2026

YPSILANTI —  Eastern Michigan University is honored to be recognized on the Forbes list of America’s Best Midsize Employers 2026. This distinction highlights the University’s commitment to employee satisfaction and a diverse workplace culture.

Now in its eleventh year, Forbes’ ranking of America’s Best Midsize Employers recognizes organizations with 1,000 to 5,000 employees that have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to a positive work environment. Companies are evaluated using survey responses measuring respondents’ willingness to recommend their employer, along with prior-year survey data, to ensure a fair and accurate ranking of the organization. Participants are asked to rate their experience with the job’s salary, work environment, training programs, and opportunities to advance.

“The University prides itself on a collaborative, welcoming, and supportive work environment,” said Kathy Stacey, associate vice president and chief human resources officer at EMU. “Faculty and staff benefit from factors that support work-life balance, professional development opportunities, and wellness programs.”

Results were based on data from more than 217,000 employees at U.S. companies with more than 1,000 employees, according to Forbes. This award is presented by Forbes in partnership with Statista Inc., a global data and business intelligence platform.
